If you’re an avid fan of hotpot and BBQ, you probably would have heard of Jinshang Yipin, a halal restaurant for Chinese-style hotpot and BBQ since 2018.
Ceasing operations end May 2023
Unfortunately, the restaurant will be closing down its only outlet at Eastpoint Mall on 31 May 2023.
The restaurant shared the news in an Instagram post on May 9, 2023.
Hotpot and BBQ grill buffet
The restaurant near Simei MRT is known for its introduction of halal Chinese hotpot, a rarity in Singapore when it first opened.
Diners can choose from 6 different soup bases for their pots, and these include both spicy and non-spicy options.
A variety of ingredients are available as part of the buffet, ranging from meats and seafood to vegetables and several choices of rice and noodles.
Check out their full menu here.
Apart from dining in at their physical store, Jinshang Yipin also sells bundles online where customers can cook their own hotpot and grill meats in the comfort of their own homes.
At the time of writing, most of the value bundles are on sale, with prices as low as S$98 for a Meat or Seafood Set (U.P. S$118) that’s enough for 4-5 pax.
Reduced prices this month and new location
It’s not all bad news, though.
From now till 31 May 2023, the restaurant is offering discounted prices for its buffet:
- Weekday (Mon-Thur): S$32 per pax (U.P. S$35)
- Weekend (Fri-Sun): S$35 per pax (U.P. S$38)
There’s also no GST and service charge.

In the Instagram caption above, the restaurant also announced that they “will be looking for a new location”.
So it seems like we won’t be seeing the last of them quite yet.
