In Singapore, popular Japanese retailer Don Quijote, also known as Don Don Donki, has mushroomed to more than 10 outlets since its first outlet opened at Orchard Central in 2017.
With hundreds of stores in Japan and several more in other countries, Don Don Donki offers a wide variety of Japanese products from groceries to household items and cosmetics – pretty much everything under the sun!
Unfortunately, halal products are not as easily found on the outlets’ shelves, until now.
Halal products in JEWEL outlet
In a Facebook post announcing the opening of its 15th outlet in Jewel Changi Airport on Dec. 20, Don Don Donki mentioned that over 100 Halal Japanese products will be featured there too.
This will be its first Singapore store to carry halal products such as beverages, snacks, noodles, sauces and other cooking ingredients, Mothership reported.
In neighbouring Malaysia, certain Don Don Donki outlets already have halal food sections that stock everything from ramen and snacks, to frozen foods and other ingredients.

Whilst the Jewel outlet is poised to carry a wide selection of halal products, the other outlets already stock some halal-certified items if you looked hard enough.
