Local churros brand Churros Republic is Singapore’s only Michelin Preferred churros, having been selected as the preferred churros partner for the MICHELIN Guide Street Food Festival in 2019.
If you haven’t had a taste of these Spanish donuts before, you can do so at their third and newest outlet in Westgate.
The other two outlets are in Our Tampines Hub and Funan Mall.
New outlet in Westgate
Just opened over the weekend, the new store is located within Eccellente by HAO mart, a supermarket located on B2 of the mall in Jurong East.
While the other two outlets look quite small, this new outlet flaunts a seemingly bigger operating space with clean, white tiles as its backdrop.
If the idea of standing in line at a crowded Ramadan bazaar to get your churros fix is enough to give you a headache, a visit to Churros Republic might be a faster (and less stressful) option.
Signature plated and bite-sized churros
Like its other outlets, Churros Republic offers its cinnamon sugar-coated treats in both plated and bite-sized forms.
The signature plated churro (S$6) is a round-shaped churro donut with toppings placed in the center. These come in a variety of flavours ranging from Creme Brûlée to Milo Dinosaur.
We recommend eating this while sitting down and holding the boxed plate underneath the churro at all times to avoid a mess.
For fuss-free snacking, the bite-sized churros are your best bet. These come in a Fun Box of either 5 or 10 pieces priced at S$4.80 and S$6.80 respectively.
You also get to choose your own dips or toppings ranging from dark chocolate, butterscotch, matcha, Oreo crumbs and more.
There’s also butterscotch brew on display, a frothy cold artisanal soda reminiscent of the butter beers in Harry Potter. However, this was not available when we visited.
