We recently compiled a list of halal bakeries in Kampong Glam, but still managed to miss this hidden gem. If you’re looking for affordable treats, you have to check out Omnom Bakery.
Omnom Bakery is a small takeaway shop in Singapore Textile Centre selling bakes including croissants, muffins, cakes and even cupcakes at S$2 each, so that you can recreate your own at-home afternoon tea without breaking the bank.
S$2 cupcakes
Admittedly, we discovered Omnom Bakery on social media thanks to its ongoing cupcake promotion. Each cupcake is priced at only S$2 (U.P. S$4.50)!
Here are some of the cupcake flavours available:
- Ondeh Ondeh
- Bubblegum
- Cheesecake Biscoff
- Mint Cadbury
- Toblerone Caramel
- Popcorn
- Nutella
- Nasi Lemak
Yup, you saw that last one right. It’s a savoury cupcake with the usual Nasi Lemak fixin’s like ikan bilis, peanuts and sambal.
Croissants
Regardless of how you choose to pronounce it, croissants are a staple during afternoon tea.
Available in both plain and Nutella varieties, the croissants are currently priced at 3 for S$10.
Muffins
Similar to the cupcakes, muffins are also going at a promotional price of S$2 each. Imagine biting into one of these Chocolate Chip Muffins in between sips of hot tea…
Other bakes
Omnom Bakery doesn’t just churn out small bakes; they also have quite a selection of heftier goods to please your sugary cravings.
We saw some very sizeable sliced cakes in their display case. These include the Nutella Hazelnut Cake (S$12/slice), Putu Piring Cake (S$12/slice) and Nutella Kinder Bueno Jiggly Cheesecake (S$10/slice).
They also stock other bakes ranging from Korean Cream Cheese Garlic Bun (3 for S$10) to Tuna Croissant (3 for S$10).
If sliced cakes and cupcakes are too small for your catering needs, or for your own consumption, they offer full cakes for selected flavours. However, pre-orders might be necessary.
Promotion details and how to order
It is unclear how long the promotional prices will last for. But it does seem like Omnom Bakery is seeing a huge demand as they had to close the shop early last weekend due to a surge in orders, as posted by the shop’s owner on Facebook.
I mean, who doesn’t love a good deal?!
