Tenderfresh’s modern-day cafe concept Tenderbest Makcik Tuckshop is known for its tuckshop food in a cafe setting. Currently, there are two outlets: in Jalan Kayu and Woodlands.
Come September, a third Tenderbest Makcik Tuckshop outlet will open in Punggol East, in collaboration with another homegrown brand: Cat & the Fiddle!

Two local brands in one spot
As announced on its social media pages today, Tenderbest has partnered with Cat & the Fiddle Cakes to include their recent popular cafe concept in the third Tuckshop!
Cat & the Fiddle is well known for its range of creative cheesecakes, with flavours including local-inspired ones like Milo Dinosaur and Mao Shan Wang. Recently, the brand also opened its first cafe concept in Woodlands.
So what can diners expect at the new Tuckshop? Apart from Tenderbest’s crowd favourites like fried chicken, steak and chicken chop, diners can also expect delectable cheesecakes from Cat & the Fiddle.
But there’s more! Tenderbest will also have a new menu featuring Asian fusion pizzas, baked rice, pastas and even a brunch menu for the weekends.

Unique features at the Punggol Tuckshop
In the social media announcement, Tenderbest also revealed a few unique features for the new cafe.
The stand alone Tuckshop will include a drive thru pick up service where guests could order in advance and drive over to pick the food up. This could be a game-changer, especially since previous tenant KFC and McDonald’s in SAFRA Punggol are already doing this.
Punggol is a cyclist-friendly town, and Tenderbest seems to be aware of that as the cafe will also have bicycle parking facilities for cyclists visiting for a quick coffee.
More interestingly for Muslim guests, there’s even a musollah for them to do their prayers.
With all these unique features, we imagine the cafe to be a perfect spot for anyone to wind down or hang out. The place is also a short walking distance away from Riviera LRT station, so accessibility is great.
When will it open?
Tenderbest did not specify an opening date, but they did mention that the cafe will open on the first week of September. Stay tuned to their social media pages for updates.
Also, do note that since it is a new establishment, there won’t be any MUIS halal certification yet. Tenderfresh told The Halal Eater that they can only start the application after the cafe has opened. So bear that in mind!
