We are starting to sound like a broken record, but the Kampong Gelam district is undoubtedly seeing a renaissance of new businesses this year. And like moths drawn to a flame, we find ourselves returning to discover more and more new eateries there.
A new cafe, described by its website as serving ‘European food with a Bana twist’ has just opened in the area. Bana Bana Cafe is located at the corner of North Bridge Road and Jalan Pisang, and having soft-launched last week is currently offering a festive packages of cinnamon rolls for this festive season.
On the menu
The cafe will gradually release more and more items from the full menu – with filling options such as customisable Bana Bowls, pasta, rice, baked goods, all-day breakfast, sandwiches, and more.
Bana Bana Cafe’s Facebook page describes its menu as European style street food so keep that in mind if you are visiting.

Also available are their selection of freshly baked pastries like croissants, pain au chocolates, cinnamon rolls, brownies, tarts, cakes, and more.
Customers can pick and choose whatever pastry they like from the glass display case and pair it with coffee or tea.
On the corner of North Bridge Rd and Jln Pisang
If you are wondering where exactly Bana Bana Cafe is located, just note that the venue is right on the corner of North Bridge Road and Jln Pisang. You definitely can’t miss the all-white exterior of the shophouse unit.
