With pasar malams and food events not happening since Covid-19 struck, most pop-up shops such as Creamed and Broti have moved into permanent brick-and-mortar shops.
The latest to open a shop of their own is The Original Pisang Keju, offering hot favourite pisang goreng keju, or fried banana fritters with cheese and other toppings.
The brand announced the news on a September 14 Instagram post.
The small takeaway cafe will allow customers to walk in and purchase the pisang keju while it is still hot from the oven.
Prior to the shop opening, the owner has kept the business going by mainly doing deliveries as well as flash sales on Instagram Live.
Pasar malam stall
Previously, The Original Pisang Keju was a roving stall that could be found at pasar malams and food fairs such as Mak Besar and Twilight.
Prices ranged from S$7.00 to S$50 for different box sizes which can house a variety of flavours, including Nutella Oreo, Double Choc, Sambal Kicap, Choc rice and many more.
We expect long queues when they officially open on September 18, so try to come down early.
